InsulWall®, an insulated curtain wall, allows businesses to create partitioned space for products or work processes that require temperature-specific storage requirements.

Pharmaceutical wholesale distribution facilities comply with VAWD – Verified Accredited Wholesale Distributors – to maintain the ability to distribute temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals. Recognizing the importance of VAWD accreditation, one of America’s largest distributors of healthcare supplies and services approached Randall to evaluate InsulWall, an industrial insulated curtain wall.

This distributor determined that a 10,000 square foot room was needed to properly store a select group of temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products.  The distribution facility has been leased with the plan to move in the near future; structural changes to the facility, i.e. a permanent wall as not an option.  An industrial insulated curtain wall would need to meet the following criteria:

  • Maintain a temperature range of 68o-86oF (20o-30oC);
  • Modular design so that the organization could reuse the panels when they move to a new location; and
  • Install quickly – within five working days with no facility shut down.

This distributor chose InsulWall to help meet VAWD’s stringent temperature control guidelines.  A 10,000 square foot room with 30 foot high ceilings was constructed using InsulWall in five working days.  Its modularity and ability to move with the organization were key factors in the decision.

According to the distributor’s  Director of Operations, “I was extremely impressed with the speed and simplicity of the installation.”

Additionally, InsulWall was put to the test.  During installation, the installer realized the ceiling height was measured incorrectly resulting in “short” InsulWall panels.  New panels were manufactured which seamlessly augmented the original length to quickly correct the situation.

InsulWall, an industrial insulated curtain wall, provided a fast, effective solution to create a temperature-controlled storage area to meet VAWD’s stringent guidelines.
